Sitting here on this cool Monday morning on March 28^th thinking, how this month flew by. Listening to StarRo’s music, looking around my house wanting to get up and start the spring cleaning ritual my mother instilled in me at an early age. StarRo is a Japanese music mixologist, Guitarist, Keyboardist, Producer based out of Los Angeles. What I like about his music, it has that hint of his Japanese heritage in it. His music is considered downtempo influenced by Straight-ahead jazz, Brazilian, Folk, Acoustic, Soul and Hip Hop. There is one female artist he features on his song “Can't Get You Out Of My Mind” by the name of Alcordo she can sing. StarRo’s mixes are unique and very chill. The Tall Black Guy

DJ Michael Ealey ask me if I heard of the Tall Black Guy. I said no but the name is cool. When I listened to his “Mix #1” and “Mix #2” I was hooked and became an instant fan. I like the groove. You can hear Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” laugh in it. The artist he has rapping on it, is spitting serious knowledge about the Motor City. His “Mix #2” is also amazing, it’s so smooth.

Terrel Wallace (aka Tall Black Guy) hails from Detroit, Michigan. His music is Jazz, Hip Hop, Funk, Neo-Soul and Motown all mixed into one beautiful sound. Tall Black Guy’s mixes and music transcends several categories in music. It doesn’t matter if you listen to Hip Hop, Jazz, Smooth Jazz, Neo-Soul, Funk, Trap and Dub you hear all of it in his music. Soul Square

These hip hop dudes from France are in my opinion are better than some of the mainstream hip hop artists. Arshitect, Guan Jay & PermOne got together in 2005 at first they called themselves Drum Brothers but they settled on Soul Square. Soul Square released their album entitled “Live & Uncut” in 2010. I really like this album these dudes it is a combination of jazz, soul and funk. Some of my favorite songs are “Love Break”, “Change”, “Can't We (Just Chill)”, “Living the Dream“ “Flesh Air” and “Turn This Party Out”. We need more hip-hop like this something with substance. Madlib

Madlib is an artist that blends jazz, funk & hip hop music with his beats and makes incredible music. Madlib’s giving name is Otis Jackson Jr. Madlib was born in Oxnard California and is living in Los Angeles. This 40 year old DJ, multi-instrumentalist, MC, and music producer has incredible amount of talent. I truly enjoy the way he takes his beats and mixes it into a hip hop, jazz and funk tunes. Madlib is has collaborated with numerous hip hop artists, including The Alkaholiks, Mos Def, De La Soul, Ghostface Killah, Talib Kweli, A.G. , Madvillain, and the late J Dilla. Madlib has opened my eyes to a lot of different music and the way it is done. Madlib has a single out called“Shame” it is a real serious song. Madlib’s music just makes me feel elated.
